KL15813 RAPT Fermentation Chamber | User Guide
The RAPT Fermentation Chamber is quite simply the best, easiest and most powerful fully inclusive fermentation chamber on the market.
Featuring built in heating and cooling, full integration with the RAPT ecosystem, Bluetooth functionality for powerful integration with the RAPT Pill Hydrometer range, this unit will allow for completely remote yet exceptionally powerful fermentation control.

Bluetooth Guide | RAPT Fermentation Chamber
Bonding a RAPT Pill to send telemetry is a powerful and robust way to really leverage the versatility of the RAPT ecosystem.
Please refer to this video for a detailed guide to Bonding your RAPT Pill to your RAPT Fermentation Chamber or Temperature Controller.
Once the Pill has been Bonded to the device, it can be selected in the Settings menu as one of the available Temperature Sensors. Once selected in this menu, temperature control will be ceded to the selected Bluetooth enabled RAPT device, rather than the internal temperature probe. In addition, on the TFT display the current (most recent) Graity and Temperature reading will be displayed. The internal (built in probe) temperature is also displayed. NOTE: this is not displayed in Graph Enabled Mode.
Once the Pill has been Bonded and selected as the Temperature Sensor of the device, powerful Profile features are unlocked.
You can set triggers such as Gravity or Gravity Velocity, as well as Time for your fermentation control.
For example, instead of setting a fairly arbitrary length of time before you start ramping the temperature of your fermentation for a diacetyl rest, you can choose a specific gravity point or (even mrore acurately) a specific Gravity Velocity (rate of change of gravity) as a trigger point for increasing the temperature.
A common Fermentation Profile involves maintaining temperature for three days, and then increasing the temperature as the Gravity Velocity slows down, and then again when the Gravity Velocity slows further, signalling that fermentation is nearly done. This type of profile can work (with slight variations) for nearly every yeast, and allows us to maintain optimum yeast health and activity for a fast but clean fermentation!
This can be downloaded to your RAPT account and can then be adjusted to suit if required. It illustatres how easy it is to have an automatic profile that suits almost every ale fermentation, and can easily be tweaked to suit lagers.

NOTE: It is completely normal for there to be a temperature variance between the internal probe and the Bluetooth enabled RAPT device. This is because the Bluetooth device is measuring the temperature of the fermentation (typically), and the internal probe is measuring the air temperature of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber. This difference will be greater when the RAPT Fermentation Chamber is actively heating or cooling.
The Allowed Sensor Diff. Iin the menu) sets the allowed temperature differential between the desired setpoint and the current temperature of the Fermentation Chamber. Cooling and Heating is disabled temporarily if this differential is exceeded. The default differential setting is 5°C. This value is suitable for typical use.
This differential can be altered in the Settings menu. If the temperature differential is exceeded, the RAPT Fermentation Chamber will suspend heating and cooling until the differential is reduced. The legend DIFF OVERRIDE will also be displayed when the display is in Graph Disabled Mode.
The RAPT Fermentation Chamber will suspend active cooling or heating and resume as needed – no intervention is required. Once the differential is reduced then heating and cooling will continue as normal.
The Allowed Sensor Differential can be a powerful tool for temperature control. The default setting of 5°C is perfect for most use cases. However, you may choose to increase the differential to allow for more sustained and thus faster heating or cooling, for example. The Sensor Differential can be reduced as well - meaning that the a, which can be useful if there are large temperature swings during fermentation.llowed temperature swings in the chamber will be reduced.
Note that in most cases 5°C is appropriate, and too great a differential can causes issues such as freezing.
Change the Screen Board | RAPT Fermentation Chamber
Swapping the KL17091 TFT RAPT - Fermentation Chamber - Screen Board is quite a simple process.
Please refer to the following instructions should you need to swap the Screen Board for any reason.
WARNING: Ensure the RAPT Fermentation Chamber is unplugged before proceeding
First, remove the top beer and gas line cover.
Use the tab to release the top cover as shown
Next, use a Philips screwdriver to remove thee two screws
Now, remove screws from the underside of the screen as shown here
Remove the left and right side covers by sliding them away from the fridge as show below
Slide the screen down so you can see the cables behind the screen
Unplug the cables from the screen PCB board
Remove the four screws holding the screen board in place
If you are replacing the screen PCB board with a new one make sure to remember to remove the protective film before putting the new board into position
Finally, simply reassemble the unit following the same steps in reverse order.








How to fix a RAPT device that is boot looping | Recovery Mode Guide
If your RAPT device boots up but continually ‘loops’ back to the start up logo, this indicates that the device is stuck in a ‘boot loop’
This can happen for several reasons including but not limited to a failed firmware download, power interruption during install, poor network strength.
A Boot Loop can occur on any RAPT device with a screen – including but not limited to RAPT Fermentation Chambers, RAPT Temperature Controllers, Gen 4 RAPT BrewZillas.
A Boot Loop issue is quite easily rectified.
Generally, a Boot Loop can be resolved by resetting NVS.
An NVS reset is performed using the following steps.
You may require assistance, as you need to unplug the device and re-plug it while accessing the control panel.
STEP 1: : Unplug the RAPT device that is boot-looping.
STEP 2: Hold down the Up or Down buttons on the RAPT device
STEP 3: While holding the buttons down, plug the RAPT device back in. Keep the two buttons held down while the unit boots up.
Note: it is quite helpful to have another person assist with this.
STEP 4: The device will reboot, and also clear NVS. This will reset the unit (so it will forget the current WiFi config and Registration settings unfortunately) but it will also restore it to the last stable firmware condition.
STEP 5: Once rebooted, you can go through the initial steps required to connect the device to your WiFi network. (See the appropraite Get Started! guide for step by step instructions if required)
STEP 6: One connected to WiFi, please navigate to Check for OTA Update in the Settings menu and select this. This will download and install the current firmware.
Please ensure you have a decent, stable WiFi signal before updating, as dropouts during this can cause 'boot loop' issues as experienced.
STEP 7: This operation may need to be performed a couple of times to be successful. A successful NVS reset will display a Connect this device to the Internet message after booting up. If this does not appear please perform the reset operation again.
In the unlikely event that an NVS reset does not fix a boot loop issue, we can perform a full reset into recovery mode. This will reset the device back to factory defaults, and restore it to the last verified firmware.
Recovery mode operates as a bootloader which gives access to settings independant of firmware. This can be useful in some situations such as experiencing issues with your RAPT device due to a corrupt firmware or a problem with a firmware update.
Typically the avergae user will not need to enter Recovery Mode.
STEP 1: Enter Recovery Mode
Unplug the RAPT device, then plug it back in while holding all 4 main buttons down - Up or Down Select Cycle/Back
Once it boots up, you will see a screen called Recovery Mode Main Menu
STEP 2: Select option [0] Rollback last OTA update and reset.
Use the Up or Down buttons to select the required option [0] then select Cycle/Back to do this.
If successful, the message Rollback to previous firmware worked will be displayed, and the RAPT device will reboot. You may then need to reconnect the RAPT device to your WiFi network and perform an OTA firmware update, then re-register the device to your RAPT account.
STEP 3: If unsuccessful, the message Rollback is not possible will be displayed, and the unit will stay in Recovery Mode.
You will need to manually connect the RAPT device to WiFi and update the firmware manually while in Recovery Mode.
As there is no on screen keyboard, the easiest way to do this is to setup a HotSpot on your phone with a super simple network name and password – such as all capital 'A's for the name and password.
Thus create a HotSpot network name of AA and a password of AAAAAAAA.
Use the Up or Down buttons to select option [1] Connect To Wifi.
Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the SSID and Password on the controller.
Otherwise use the navigation keys to enter your home WiFi Network SSID and Password manually
Once connected to the network, the RAPT device will go back to the main Recovery Mode menu. This time, select option [2] Do OTA Update
This will update the RAPT device firmware. Once this is down, please unplug the RAPT device then plug it back in after 30 seconds. It will now start up properly.
If you used a custom mobile phone hotspot to connect you will now need to connect the RAPT device to your home WiFi network. Please refer to the online user manual for step by step instructions. The RAPT device will also need to be re-registered to your RAPT account after this.
In the unlikely event that resetting NVS and entering Recovery Mode does not fix a boot loop issue, please contact KegLand at or your local retailer for warranty support.
Profile User Guide | RAPT Fermentation Chamber
Profiles are a key component of the RAPT system. Profiles are powerful tools that can be customised to a great degree, allowing extremely fine control over all aspects of brewing/fermentation
Profiles are created in the. There are also Global Profiles that can be imported and customised. Once a profile is created in the RAPT Portal, it can be sent to the corresponding RAPT device using Send Profile To Device from the My Profiles screen. Alternatively, you can select Start Profile Session for the RAPT Fermentation Chamber in the Dashboard. This will send the Profile to the device and also begin the Profile automatically.
The RAPT ecosystem is intended to be largely controlled remotely, and thus there are more powerful controls in the RAPT Portal than on board the RAPT Fermentation Chamber.
Once you have registered your RAPT Fermentation Chamber on the RAPT Portal you can then log telemetry from the device and set up complex temperature/fermentation profiles involving multiple steps.
To setup a fermentation profile on the RAPT Portal select My Profiles and then Create New Profile. Then add your fermentation profile steps such as primary fermentation, diacetyl rest, dry hop, cold crash etc.
Operating the RAPT Fermentation Chamber
The Digital Controller has 4 buttons which serve different functions depending on context
Cycle/Back - navigation between On Screen options. Exit without saving. Hold when prompted to advance Profile steps
Select - Select the current option. Enter a Selection. Confirm a choice
Up - Increase hightlighted variable
Down - Decrease hightlighted variable
If you do not intend to connect your device to the RAPT Portal and hence do not want to utilise the Wi-Fi functionality you can operate the Fermentation Chamber completely manually via the buttons on the display.

To store a Fermentation Profile on the RAPT Fermentation Chamber you can select Send Profile To Device from the My Profiles screen. The Profile will be uploaded to the device and can then be started manually on the RAPT Fermentation Chamber.
Alternatively, you can select Start Profile Session for the RAPT Fermentation Chamber in the Dashboard of the RAPT Portal. This will send the Profile to the device and also begin the Profile automatically.
Note: You cannot create a Fermentation Profile on the RAPT Fermentation Chamber itself. It must be created in the RAPT Portal first.
Note: If any changes are made to a Fermentation Profile once the Profile has started these will not be uploaded. You must stop the Profile on the device and restart it in order to have changes reflected on the device.
To stop running or to pause the Fermentation Profile on the device press Select to enter the Profile Menu. In the Profile Menu use the Up or Down buttons to navigate to and Select either Pause this profile or End this profile.
To start a profile that has been uploaded to the RAPT device select PROFILES from the main menu.
This will display a list of Profiles that have been uploaded to the device. Navigate to the desired Profile using the Up or Down buttons and hit Select
This gives the option to Start Profile Now, Start Profile Later, View Profile or Delete Profile.
Note: Delete Profile deletes the Profile from the device only. It does not delete the Profile from the RAPT Portal.
Selecting Start Profile Now will automatically download any updates or changes that have been made to the selected Profile in the RAPT Portal and then begin running the Profile on the device.
Selecting Start Profile Later will automatically download any updates or changes that have been made to the selected Profile in the RAPT Portal. You will then be taken to the Delayed Start screen where the desired Start Time for the Profile can be selected.
Once entered, the Profile will begin automatically at the selected Start Time.
Selecting View Profile will show the Profile Steps before the Profile is started.
Alternatively, you can select Start Profile Session for the RAPT Fermentation Chamber in the Dashboard of the RAPT Portal. This will send the Profile to the device and also begin the Profile automatically.
When a Profile is running on the device, each step of the Profile can be viewed in the Profiles menu of the device.
The Profile can be controlled directly. You can Pause or Stop the currently active Profile.
Using the Up or Down buttons, you can navigate to each step in the currently active Profile.
Selecting a Profile step will commence that step unless it is already active.
Selecting a Profile step may also show other opptions depending on the nature of the Profile step. For example, selecting a Profile step with a duration timer will bring up a slider that allows you to choose the point at which to begin the step. These options are dependant on the type of Profile step being selected.
To stop running or to pause the Fermentation Profile on the device press Select to enter the Profile Menu.
In the Profile Menu use the Up or Down buttons to navigate to and Select either Pause this profile or End this profile.
Pause this profile will stop the current profile until it is started again in the Profile menu
Stop this profile will stop the profile


If you decide you don’t want to register your RAPT Fermentation Chamber to the RAPT portal and hence not use the Wi-Fi functionality of the controller you will in turn lose a lot of the functionality of the controller which is offered through the RAPT Portal. This includes features such as setting up complex temperature profiles which are run automatically and logging past temperature profiles.
At the home screen press the Up or Down buttons to adjust the target temperature. The Fermentation Chamber will then automatically send power to the heating or cooling terminals to power on your heating or cooling device to maintain this target temperature.
NOTE: This is possible only if the device is not currently running an assigned profile.
The Wi-Fi connectivity of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber allows you to monitor, track and start a complex temperature profile involving multiple steps remotely through the RAPT Portal. In order to fully utilise the capabilities of this device you should connect your RAPT Fermentation Chamber to your Wi-Fi network and register it to your account on the RAPT portal at https://app.rapt.io
This will allow you to track and monitor your fermentation in real time remotely without needing to walk over to your Fermentation Chamber. It also allows you to setup and send complex fermentation profiles involving multiple steps to your RAPT Fermentation Chamber which will then automatically run through this profile and adjust the set temperature as required.
In order to have access to this Wi-Fi functionality you will need to sign up for a RAPT Account, connect your RAPT Fermentation Chamber to your Wi-Fi network and register your device on your account on the RAPT Portal by following the setup instructions
Other Settings that can be adjusted directly in the RAPT Portal include Heating and Cooling On or Off, Heating and Cooling Hysteresis, Fan and Light operations/modes, Compressor and Mode Switch Delay and Telemetry Frequency.
To access these Settings in the RAPT Portal select the Edit button for your RAPT Fermentation Chamber in the RAPT Portal.
The temperature set point can also be set through the RAPT Portal or a profile session can be started from the RAPT Portal which will automatically begin the profile you have created.
To change the temperature set point in the RAPT Portal simply enter the desired Set Point target and press Set
Once you have registered your RAPT Fermentation Chamber on the RAPT Portal you can then log telemetry from the device and set up complex temperature/fermentation profiles involving multiple steps.
To setup a fermentation profile on the RAPT Portal select My Profiles and then Create New Profile. Then add your fermentation profile steps such as primary fermentation, diacetyl rest, dry hop, cold crash etc.

Your RAPT Fermentation Chamber will automatically check for and install firmware updates when turned on and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
To check the firmware version on your RAPT Fermentation Chamber, press Select to enter the menu and then navigate to Diagnostics.
To manually update the firmware in the event that this is not up to date, navigate to Settings and then navigate to Check for OTA Update. Your device will then automatically download and update the most current available firmware.
NOTE: You must be running the latest firmware in order to register your RAPT device
The RAPT Fermentation Chamber will require little ongoing maintenance. Periodically check the undermounted drip tray and empty as needed.
The outside of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber can be cleaned with a microfibre cloth. The inside of the chamber should be periodically cleaned with a mild detergent and a microfibre cloth.
Ensure that the interior of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber is dried thoroughly between use. When not in use, ensure that the RAPT Chamber is clean.
Best practice is to run it at low temperatures (~2°C) in order to prevent mould or other issues when not in active use. Alternatively, when not in use, turn the RAPT Fermentation Chamber off at the wall.
Ensure that the inside is clean and dry. Leave the door propped open when not powered on.

Menu Guide | RAPT Fermentation Chamber
The RAPT Fermentation Chamber is designed to be largely controlled through the RAPT Portal.
There are various on board functions which can be accessed directly through the on board menu.
To use the on board menu, use the Up or Down buttons to navigate. Use the Select button to select or enter a function once highlighted. Use the Return button to escape from a Menu option or return to the prvious screen. Selecting Back will not save any changes.
This option will only be available when the RAPT Fermentation Chamber is not registered to the RAPT Portal. For a step by step guide to registering your RAPT Fermentation Chamber please refer to
To access currently running Profiles, or Profiles that have been uploaded to the device, navigate to and select Profiles in the menu. From this menu, available Profiles can be started, stopped and paused.


































Active profiles can also be skipped to another step or reverted to a previous step. Please refer to Profiles for a full guide.
The following options are available in the Settings Menu.
To change any of the advanced settings enter the Menu by pressing Select . Once in the menu navigate to Settings and press Select
Up or Down buttons to adjust the set value for the setting. To save your setting hit Select . To return to the menu without saving choose Cycle/Back
Some options are on/off toggles that can be activated or deactivated from the Settings Menu directly.
Temperature Sensor
Select built-in probe or select any Bonded Bluetooth RAPT Pill & Hydrometer

Toggles display between the graph or a numerical display

Bluetooth needs to first be enabled in the Settings menu (above).
To Bond a Bluetooth enabled RAPT devices, use the Up or Down buttons to scroll to select the device. Choose Select button to Bond the device, or the Cycle/Back button to cancel.
Once Bonded, the device will be visible in the Bonded section of the Bluetooth Menu. To Unbond, select the device with the navigation arrows and choose Select buttont to Unbond the device, or the Cycle/Back button to cancel.

The Diagnostics menu contains information about the RAPT Fermentation Chamber. This includes such information as current firmware version, Wi-Fi network and signal strength, MAC address and IP address of the device.
The About menu contains information specific to the firmware and software of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber and associated devices, including but not limited to copyright information, acknowledgment of open source properties used, legal information etc.




Troubleshooting | RAPT Fermentation Chamber

Select the date range displayed on the graph (default 7 days)
Cooling Hysteresis
Sets the cooling hysteresis (range 0.0°C-10°C, default 1°C)
Heating Hysteresis
Sets the heating hysteresis (range 0.0°C-10°C, default 1°C)
Compressor Cooldown
Sets the minimum compressor delay (Range 0-10 minutes, default 5 minutes)
Mode Switch Delay
Sets the minimum mode switch delay (Range 0-30 minutes, default 15 minutes)
Cooler Enabled
Toggles cooling on or off (when unchecked, the cooling will not operate irrespective of other settings)
Heater Enabled
Toggles heating on or off (when unchecked, the heater will not operate irrespective of other settings)
Bluetooth Enabled
Toggles Bluetooth functionality on or off
Allowed Sensor Diff.
This sets the allowed temperature differential between the built in probe and the current setpoint when using a Bluetooth device for temperature control (range 1°C-50°C, default 5°C). See Bluetooth Operation

Sets the timeout if a Bluetooth device drops out (reverts to internal probe) (Range 5-1800 seconds, default 900 seconds)

Navigate to Settings and Enable WiFI
Unplug the device for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and refresh the list of networks on your mobile device
This may already be connected to WiFi. Check the IP (STA) in Diagnostics. If this is populated with an IP address that is not 0.0.0.0 then this is already connected
"Selected Network is not connected to the Internet" error
Select the KegLand RAPT XXX network and choose "Forget This Network"
Device does not connect to my WiFi network
Check that your network is broadcasting a 2.4gHz signal
Non alphanumeric characters in the SSID or password can cause issues - change these to simple (letters and numbers only) characters
Ensure you are selecting the correct network and inputting the correct password for that network
The network must have a password – the device cannot connect to an unsecured network
The device may already be connected. Check the IP (STA) in Diagnostics. If this is populated with an IP address that is not 0.0.0.0 then the device is likely already connected
Reboot the device by unplugging for at least 309 seconds
Reboot your modem/WiFi router
Try connecting to a different WiFi network
Turn off any VPN or anything that can block an outgoing signal on the router
If the above do not work, see below
Cannot see a Validation Code
Connect the device to your WiFi network
Update the firmware - select Check for OTA update in Settings
Error when Registering device
Check that the device firmware is up to date - select Check for OTA update in the DIagnostics screen
The Validation Code may have timed out. Reboot the device by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Log out of the RAPT Portal and log back in
If the above steps do not work, reboot the network that the device is connected to. Once the network has rebooted, reboot the device by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Log out of the RAPT Portal and log back in. Note: if using a modem and seperate wifi roters, reboot the modem and then the wifi routers in that order.
A corrupt firmware install can prevent registration. This can happen if a firmware download is interrputed, for example. If the above steps do not allow registration, please refer to to rollback firmware to a good version, then update to the current version
Determine whether your device is connected to Wi-Fi
To check this navigate to Diagnostics and check that it shows your network’s IP address next to IP (STA) - in the form 192.168.XX.XXX or similar. You can also check the WiFi AP (Access Point ) the device is connected to and the current WiFi signal strength
Determine whether your device is registered to the RAPT Portal
If the message "Register your device by pressing the select button to enter the main menu, then selecting the "Register Device" item in the main menu" is displayed, this is not registered. Please follow the steps outlined in Register Device
Cannot update firmware | 5379 Error
This is a network issue. The OTA Firmware Update could not be validated or was incomplete. Ensure your device is as close as possible to the router. Check signal strength in Diagnostics
Ensure you have a strong 2.4gHz WiFi signal (not just 5gHZ). Check your signal strength against
Make sure there are no VPNs in use, or filters or other potential issues set up in the router that can block an outgoing signal
If issues persist, reboot the device and also the modem
If the above do not work, see Using Phone as Hotspot below
If the above do not work, see below
Cannot update firmware | 28674 Error
This is a network issue. The OTA Firmware Update could not be validated or was incomplete. Ensure your device is as close as possible to the router. Check signal strength in Diagnostics
Error 28674 is an error opening an HTTP connection. Check your modem or router settings. A VPN, Firewall or other setting may be blocking outgoing connections - this is a common reason for this error
Ensure you have a strong 2.4gHz WiFi signal (not just 5gHZ). Check your signal strength against
If issues persist, reboot the device and also the modem
If the above do not work, see below
If updating the firmware persistently fails or throws an error, and all troubleshooting steps have failed, then try using your mobile phone as a Hotspot to resolve this.
Using the phone as a Hotspot will typically solve firmware update issues of this kind
1: It helps eliminate potential network or modem/router issues which can cause problems that can be hard to isolate and resolve
2: It can help eliminate signal strength or poor WiFi connection issues as the phone can be positioned right next to the RAPT device when in Hotspot mode.
To connect to the phone Hotspot and update the firmware there are a few steps to follow
On the phone, turn WiFi OFF. When troubleshooting firmware download or network issues, we do not want to use the same network thus the phone must be disconnected from the WiFi network in order to do this
Enable Personal Hotspot (sometimes just called Hotspot) on your phone. This is typically located under the WiFi or Network menu in the Settings menu of the phone. On IOS this is under Settings/Personal Hotspot. The menu names will vary on Android depending on device
Enable Maximise Compatibility (on IOS) or 2.4gHz Network Only (on Android - again, this will have different names depending on device/OS). This will help minimise issues when connecting
Once Hotspot is enabled on the device, following the steps in to connect to the phone Hotspot
Once connected, navigate to Settings/Check for OTA update on the RAPT Device
Cannot open Captive Portal
Check that WiFi is active on your mobile device
Select KegLand RAPT XXXX network
Setting up the RAPT Fermentation Chamber

If you intend to pressure ferment in the RAPT Fermentation Chamber you may find it useful to install a KL15042 duotight BlowTie Spunding Valve and/or a KL15035 duotight Inline Regulator.
The duotight BlowTie Spunding Valve will allow excess pressure built up during fermentation to be released from the fermenter allowing an optimal fermentation pressure to be set based on your beer style and recipe.
Installation of a duotight inline regulator allows for easy pressurisation for closed transfers for example.
There is a mounting point on either side of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber for mounting a duotight BlowTie Spunding Valve or Inline Regulator.
Remove the cover panel behind the RAPT Fermentation Chamber on the top of the fridge
Unscrew the two Phillips head screws which hold the side service panel in position
Slide the side service panel away from the RAPT Fermentation Chamber
Remove the blanking plate and slide in the PCO1880 threaded plate into the desired location depending on if you wanted the ball lock disconnect mounting point on the side or the top of the fridge
Screw a duotight compatible carbonation cap onto the PCO1881 thread
or the KL10788 Carbonation Caps
Measure and cleanly cut the desired length of EVABarrier tubing required to reach from your fermenter in the fridge to the duotight BlowTie Spunding Valve or Inline Regulator. Then route this hosing into the injection moulded channel and through the opening in the top of the fridge
Unscrew the two screws which hold the RAPT blanking plate onto the mounting points
Secure the duotight BlowTie Spunding Valve or Inline Regulator into position using the two mounting points
Terminate the line inside the RAPT fermentation chamber with gas disconnects. are recommended for this
Note: You may need to remove the gauge from the BlowTie Spunding or Inline regulator which is positioned to the right of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber and rotate this such that it is upright. This can be done easily by removing the two bolts which hold the gauge housing in place and pulling up on the gauge to remove it
Note: To ensure correct orientation install the Inline Regulator (KL15035) on the left hand side. Install the Blowtie spunding valve (KL15042) on the right hand side of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber

An easy way to connect the EVABarrier hosing onto the carbonation cap is to use a duotight fitting. Below is just one example of how the EVABarrier gas hosing can be connected.
Push a 6.35mm x 8mm reducer onto the duotight compatible barb of the carbonation cap
Push an 8mm male x 8mm female elbow into the reducer
Cleanly cut an 82mm length of EVABarrier hose and insert this firmly into the BlowTie Spunding Valve or Inline Regulator and duotight reducer. Ensure that the arrow on the side of the Spunding Valve or Inline regulator is pointing towards the RAPT Fermentation Chamber
Push a 6.35mm x 8mm reducer onto the duotight compatible barb of the carbonation cap
Cleanly cut an 84mm length of EVABarrier hose and insert this firmly into the BlowTie Spunding Valve or Inline Regulator and duotight reducer. Ensure that the arrow on the side of the Spunding Valve or Inline regulator is pointing towards the RAPT Fermentation Chamber
The front panel at the base of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber is dismountable. In normal use it is held in place by magnets, to allow easy and convenient access to the drip tray which is mounted underneath the fermentation chamber. It is recommended to regularly check the drip tray and empty as required. To enable this, remove the four screws holding the front panel in place.
The RAPT fermentation Chamber comes as standard with a short temperature probe which measures the air temperature within the RAPT Fermentation Chamber.
If you were looking for higher accuracy temperature measurement by inserting a temperature probe into the thermowell of your fermenter you will need to install and calibrate a longer extension temperature probe (sold separately - KL22460)
For instructions to install and calibrate this longer extension temperature probe please refer to the instructional YouTube video or follow the steps below
Alternatively, Bonding a RAPT Pill Hydrometer via Bluetooth and using this as the tmperature probe is ideal as this unlocks the ability to have powerful, customised Fermentation Profiles with steps that can be triggered by temperature, time, gravity and rate of change of gravity!
To calibrate the extension probe:
Enter the menu by pressing Select
Set up two glasses of water. Ice water to one glass and add hot water to the second glass
Use the Up or Down arrows to navigate to Settings and press Select
Navigate to Calibration Point 1 and hit Select
Insert the temperature probe of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber into the glass of ice water while simultaneously measuring the temperature of the ice water using a calibrated external thermometer such as a KL23320 Digital Instant Read Thermometer. Wait for the temperature reading on both the RAPT Fermentation Chamber and the external calibrated thermometer to stabilise as much as possible.
Then adjust the temperature shown on the RAPT Fermentation Chamber (Calibration Point 1) to match the temperature measured on the external calibrated thermometer.
Press Select to lock in Calibration point 1 and move on to Calibration point 2.
Insert the temperature probe of the RAPT Fermentation Chamber into the glass of hot water while simultaneously measuring the temperature of the hot water using a calibrated external thermometer. Wait for the temperature reading on both the RAPT Fermentation Chamber and the external calibrated thermometer to stabilise as much as possible.
Then adjust the temperature shown on the RAPT Fermentation Chamber (Calibration Point 2) to match the temperature measured on the external calibrated thermometer.
Press Select to lock in this calibration point 2
In the event that you revert back to the standard probe that is preinstalled in the RAPT Fermentation Chamber, you can manually reset the temperature probe to the default settings.

You can also select Forget Calibration in Settings. This will revert any saved calibration settings to default.
Manual calibration of the internal temperature probe can be performed using the same method as outlined for the extension probe.
Included with every RAPT chamber are spare hinges that allow for the orientation of the door to be changed from right side opening to left side opening.
The bottom hinges are accessed by removing the dismountable drip tray cover (above).
To access the top hinges, remove the top panel of the RAPT chamber.
Follow the above instructions for installing the inline regulator to remove the two front panels. Then remove the 6 screws holding the plastic top cover in place. Once the top hinge can be accessed, it is removed by unscrewing from the RAPT chamber.
To swap the door hinge side, remove the top right hinge. Then carefully lift the door off the bottom hinge pin and place in a safe place. Unscrew the bottom right hinge.
Perform this in reverse to install the left hinges. Install the left bottom hinge. Carefully align the door onto the left bottom door hinge pin. Then install the left top hinge and replace the top cover.
It is recommended that this is performed by two people to minimise the risk of damage during the process
Prior to beginning fermentation or hooking up any kegs to your gas line into the fermentation chamber it is essential to conduct a leak test.
It is best to conduct a pressure decay test on the fermenter itself and on the incoming gas line into the duotight inline regulator from the CO2 cylinder and regulator to ensure your entire system has no leaks.
This can be done easily.
Attach CO2 cylinder and regulator to the gas post of the RAPT chamber
Attach the disconnect from the inline regulator (inside the RAPT chamber) to your empty fermenter
Adjust the pressure on the regulator to 20psi
Turn the CO2 cylinder valve handles off
Wait two hours and ensure the pressure reading on the pressure gauge on the regulator has not changed
