RAPT Portal | Inventory
The Inventory section of the RAPT Portal is designed to allow you to manage your own inventory of ingredients. It is a useful tool but it is not required in order to use the Recipe Editor.
The RAPT Portal has a built in and up to date database of ingredients.
Thus, you may use the Inventory feature purely to add your own, unlisted ingredients (in order to use them in recipes). It is also useful to record and track your personal inventory of ingredients so that you can see at a glance what ingredients you have to hand.
When brewing recipes in the RAPT Portal, you can elect to automatically deduct the ingredients from your inventory thus it can be automatically kept up to date!
There are seperate Inventory sections for , , and
Items can be added to your inventory manually or imported from the database. Any item in your inventory can then be edited if required.
RAPT Portal | Hops
The RAPT Portal has a large database of hops which is maintained to be as up to date as possible.
This works in a similar manner to Fermentables where you can also add any items that are not in the database to your inventory manually as well.
To add a hop to your inventory select the Add button in the top left.
This will bring up the Hops window where you either search for the hop to add, or simply enter it manually if it is not in the database.
Once you have found the hop you wish to add in the database, select it by clicking the name. This will populate the fields with the current values for the hop. These can be added to or edited manually if desired. FIelds that can be entered include Supplier, Name, Origin, Form (Pellet, Plug, Leaf or Extract), Typical Values such as Alpha Acids.
Once you are happy with the information for the hop, select Save to save this to your Hops inventory.
If the hop you wish to add is not in the database it can be added manually.
Simply enter the values in the fields as necessary. There are three information tabs - DETAILS, TYPICAL VALUES and OTHER
Details is the name, supplier etc of the hop. Typical Values is the specification of the hop - Alpha Acid is the most important of these as the recipe builde will use this information.
Once you are happy with the information for the hop, select Save to save this to your Hops inventory.
Every item entered in your Inventory also has an Inventory Amount field. This should be kept up to date with the current inventory level. If any item in your Inventory is used in a recipe in the RAPT Portal Recipe Library, you can elect to have the item automatically deducted from your Inventory when the recipe is brewed.
RAPT Portal | Yeasts
The RAPT Portal has a large database of yeasts which is maintained to be as up to date as possible.
This works in a similar manner to Fermentables where you can also add any items that are not in the database to your inventory manually as well.
To add a yeast to your inventory select the Add button in the top left.
This will bring up the Yeasts window where you either search for the hop to add, or simply enter it manually if it is not in the database.
Once you have found the yeast you wish to add in the database, select it by clicking the name. This will populate the fields with the current values for the yeast. These can be added to or edited manually if desired. FIelds that can be entered include Laboratory, Name, Type (Ale or Lager yeast), Form (Dry, Liquid, Slant or Culture). Values includes data such as Flocculation , Attenuation and Minimum and Maximum Temperature





If the yeast you wish to add is not in the database it can be added manually.
Simply enter the values in the fields as necessary. There are two information tabs - DETAILS & VALUES
Details is the name, laboratory, type etc of the yeast. Values is the specification of the yeast - Attenuation is the most important of these as the recipe builde will use this information. If the attenuation listed for the yeast is a range (which is typical) enter the median of the range for this field.
Once you are happy with the information for the yeast, select Save to save this to your Yeasts inventory.

If any item in your Inventory is used in a recipe in the RAPT Portal Recipe Library, you can elect to have the item automatically deducted from your Inventory when the recipe is brewed.


RAPT Portal | Fermentables
The RAPT Portal has a large database of fermentables which is maintained to be as up to date as possible.
You can also add any items that are not in the database to your inventory manually as well.
To add a fermentable to your inventory select the Add button in the top left.
This will bring up the Fermentables window where you either search for the fermentable to add, or simply enter it manually if it is not in the database.
Once you have found the fermentable you wish to add in the database, select it by clicking the name. This will populate the fields with the current values for the fermentable. These can be added to or edited manually if desired. FIelds that can be entered include Manufacturer, Type (Grain, Sugar, Liquid Extract etc) and also specifications such as EBC, Diastatic Power etc.
Once you are happy with the information for the fermentable, select Save to save this to your Fermentables inventory.
If the fermentable you wish to add is not in the database it can be added manually.
Simply enter the values in the fields as necessary. There are three information tabs - DETAILS, TYPICAL VALUES and OTHER
Details is the name, manufacturer etc of the fermentable. Typical Values is the specification of the fermentable - these values will be used when building a recipe with this ingredient. Other has information such as Recommended Boil or Mash (how the fermentable is typically used)
Once you are happy with the information for the fermentable, select Save to save this to your Fermentables inventory.

RAPT Portal | Miscellaneous Ingredients
The RAPT Portal has a large database of Miscellaneous Ingredients. This includes ingredients such as oak ships, enzymes, flavour agents, finings etc. Misc ingredients are ingredients that can be used for brewing (or brewing related pursuits such as distillation) that are not malts, hops or yeasts.
This works in a similar manner to Fermentables where you can also add any items that are not in the database to your inventory manually as well.
To add a miscellaneous ingredient to your inventory select the Add button in the top left.
This will bring up the Miscs window where you either search for the ingredient to add, or simply enter it manually if it is not in the database.
Once you have found the ingredient you wish to add in the database, select it by clicking the name. This will populate the fields with the current values. These can be added to or edited manually if desired. FIelds that can be entered for Miscellaneous Ingredients include Supplier, Names, Type (which includes the option Other) etc
Once you are happy with the information, select Save to save this to your Miscs inventory.
If the ingredient you wish to add is not in the database it can be added manually.
Simply enter the values in the fields as necessary. There is only one tab for Misc items.
