RAPT Can & Bottle Filler | Calibration Guide
Mandatory Firmware CheckPlease Note: The calibration process was significantly updated on 30/01/2025. To ensure your device operates correctly and follows the steps in this manual, you must be running this firmware version or newer.
Mark the Purge Tube: Locate the stainless steel purge dip tube (on the right side of the unit). Measure 100mm up from the bottom of the tube and mark this clearly with a wipeable marker.
Connect Gas: Attach your gas line to the red carbonation cap. This is required to clear the line during the calibration process.
Prepare Reference Water: Place a container (a glass is ideal) under the fill & purge tubes. Fill it with water until the water level exactly hits the 100mm mark you made in Step 1.
Check Value: Ensure the measurement value on the screen matches the height of your water (e.g., 100mm). If you used a different height, update the value on the screen now.
Capture Reading: Wait for the pressure sensor value to stabilise (fluctuating by only a few points). Select
. The unit now knows the pressure-to-depth ratio.
Set Your Target: Place your actual can or bottle in the filling position. Decide where you want the liquid to stop and mark that spot on the purge tube.
Measure & Program: Measure from the bottom of the tube up to this new mark. Enter this value (in mm) into your Fill Preset.
Test: Connect your water source to the yellow carbonation cap (max 15psi). Select your preset, place your container, and press Run.
RAPT Can & Bottle Filler | Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
To prevent the buildup of mold and bacteria and to extend the life of your device, the unit must be cleaned immediately after every filling session.
Because your beverage is contained entirely within the silicone and stainless lines and never enters the machine’s internal housing, the RAPT Can & Bottle Filler is exceptionally easy to maintain.
To prevent stagnant liquid from sitting in your lines, always drain the unit before storing.
Release the Pinch Valve: Push down on the black top of the pinch valve and pull the silicone tube out of the "jaw."
Drain the Post: Connect a ball lock disconnect to the Yellow Carbonation Cap to allow the liquid to drain completely. If you have already removed the Carbonation Cap poppety, the line will drain naturally.
Air Dry: Leave the lines disconnected and open to the air to ensure they dry fully before your next session.
If the unit has been used for heavily hopped beers, sugary beverages, or has been sitting for an extended period, a full disassembly is recommended.

Ensure you have updated the firmware on your device before attempting to register
Connecting your device to Wi-Fi allows for cloud syncing and essential firmware updates.
Enter Wi-Fi Mode: On your RAPT Can & Bottle Filler, navigate to Settings > Connect to Wi-Fi.
Connect Your Phone: On your smartphone or tablet, open your Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network named KegLand RAPT XXXX.
Enter Password: When prompted, enter the password displayed on the RAPT Can & Bottle Filler’s screen.
Configure via Portal: Once connected, a "Captive Wi-Fi Portal" should open automatically on your phone.
Join Your Network: Select your home/business Wi-Fi network from the list, enter your Wi-Fi password, and select Join.
Update Firmware: Once the device is successfully connected, navigate to Settings > Check for Firmware Updates to ensure you are running the latest version.
Registration allows you to manage your filling presets and track production data from the web portal.
Get Your Codes: On your RAPT Can & Bottle Filler, navigate to Register Device.
Record Details: The screen will display a MAC Address and a Validation Code. Write these down or take a photo.
Log In: Visit the RAPT Portal (app.rapt.io) on a computer or smartphone.
Add Device: In the Portal, click Register Device and select Can Filler from the dropdown menu.
Enter Credentials:
Input the MAC Address (the portal will default to ALL CAPS; this is normal).
Input the Validation Code.
Finalise: Give your device a unique name (e.g., "Main Filling Station") and select Finish.
Congratulations! Your RAPT Can & Bottle Filler is now connected, updated, and registered.
RAPT Can & Bottle Filler | Initial Setup Guide
Latest version: 20250430_155724_ed6e01f
Navigate to: Menu > Diagnostics.
The Firmware Version is displayed on the top row of the screen.
Check the Date Code (the first 8 digits of the version name).
This indicates the release date in YYYYMMDD format.
Example: 20250430 means the firmware was released on April 30, 2025.
Navigate to: Menu > Settings > Check for Updates.
The unit will display one of the following messages:

The RAPT Can and Bottle Filler is designed for convenient wall mounting. To ensure accuracy, download and print our specialised template:
Note: When printing, ensure your printer settings are set to "Actual Size" (100%) on standard A4 paper. Do not "Fit to Page," or the drill holes will be misaligned.
These (KL50715) allow for hanging without having to drill into a wall. They are ideal for hanging the unit to a fermentation chamber or canning machine.
The RAPT Can and Bottle Filler is designed to minimise foam during carbonated fills. Depending on the version of the Liquid Post (Yellow) your unit shipped with, you may or may not need to modify the internal poppet.
New (No Modification Required): If your liquid post features a poppet with a black plastic over-moulded piece, do not remove it. This newer design is optimised for low-turbulence flow and functions perfectly as a standard "dry-break" connection.
Original (Modification Recommended): If your liquid post has a standard all-metal or older-style poppet, we recommend removing the internal poppets from both the Liquid Post (Yellow) and the Liquid Ball Lock Disconnect.
Important: Once poppets are removed, these fittings are no longer "dry-break" connections. You must disconnect the liquid line at the keg before disconnecting the RAPT filler to prevent beverage spray.
Power: Requires a 24V DC power supply (minimum 1 Amp).
Beverage Pressure: DO NOT exceed 15 psi (1 bar). High pressure will cause foaming and may lead to liquid hose failure.
Gas Pressure: Any pressure above 2 psi is acceptable. The unit features an integrated regulator to handle higher input pressures.
You only need to perform this calibration once during your initial setup.
Initial State: Use a screwdriver to turn the regulator adjustment screw fully anti-clockwise (all the way out).
Test Environment: Place a large glass full of water into the fill position.

When not in use disconnect the RAPT Can and Bottle Filler from the gas supply to prevent the risk of gas leaking to atmosphere
When not in use disconnect the power supply, clean the liquid and gas tubes out thoroughly to prevent mould
Only use 24V power supply that comes with the unit. DO NOT attempt to use other power supplies that are rated to a different voltage
The RAPT Can & Bottle Filler uses advanced pressure sensing to determine the fill level.
The device measures the back-pressure inside the gas purge tube. As liquid rises in the vessel, it creates a specific pressure change within the tube. The RAPT software calculates this pressure in real-time to determine the exact height of the liquid, ensuring a consistent fill height every time, regardless of the vessel shape.

The RAPT Can & Bottle Filler comes with pre-defined Fill Presets stored in the system. These can be accessed through the on-screen menu to select the vessel type best suited to your current application.
When first setting up your unit, we recommend adjusting these presets to match your specific cans or bottles perfectly.
Manual presets are the quickest way to calibrate a fill level. This is done by measuring the distance between the bottom of the gas purge tube and the desired fill line (the top of the container).
Position the vessel: Place the container you intend to fill into the fill position.
Mark the fill line: On the gas fill tube, mark the point where you want the unit to stop filling (typically the top of the can/bottle).
Measure: Measure the distance from the bottom of the gas purge tube to the mark you just made.
Edit Preset: On the device, navigate to:
Menu > Fill Presets > [Select the Preset to Edit]
Adjust Height: Select Fill Height and press Select .
Save: Input your measurement and press Enter to save.
Automatic presets offer a more precise calibration, especially useful for bottles where liquid displacement needs to be taken into account for an exact headspace.
Note: System Calibration must be completed before creating automatic presets.
Purge the line: Navigate to Menu > Manual Fill. Hold the Up and Down simultaneously to purge the gas line.
Pre-fill: Manually fill your container to your exact desired level (account for the volume that will remain once the filler is removed).
Position: Place this pre-filled container into the fill position.
Edit Preset: Navigate to:
Menu > Fill Presets > [Select the Preset to Edit]
Select Height: Select Fill Height and press Select .
Auto-Calibrate: Press the FILL button (the button with the green light). The unit will automatically detect the fill height.
Save: Press Select to save the new height to the preset.
"On-the-Fly" Adjustments
If you need to make a minor adjustment during a production run without changing your permanent settings, use the Up or Down buttons on the display to adjust the Offset.
When to use: Use this if the purge tube is accidentally moved or if environmental factors are causing slight fill variations.
Important: Offset values are temporary. If you find a preset is consistently over-filling or under-filling, you should permanently update the measurement in the Fill Presets menu.
If you are experiencing excessive foam, check these three factors:
Tube Depth: Ensure the stainless fill tubes reach the bottom of your vessel.
Adjustment A: Slide the stainless tubes up or down within their clips.
Adjustment B: Loosen the wing nuts on the side of the unit to raise or lower the entire platform.
Temperature: Keep your keg as cold as possible (0°C – 2°C) without freezing. Warm liquid releases CO₂ much faster. Purge the line of warm liquid prior to a packaging run.
Line Length: Ensure you have adequate liquid line length (typically 1.5m to 3m of 4mm ID beer line) between your keg and the RAPT filler. This creates "line resistance," which naturally slows the liquid down before it reaches the vessel. If you see large bubbles forming the moment the liquid hits the bottom of the can, your flow is too fast.
Pressure Management: Reduce your dispensing pressure at the keg regulator to the minimum required to move the liquid. Always remember to purge the keg headspace after dropping the pressure.
To ensure your beverage remains shelf-stable, always sanitise the unit before use.
Internals: Run a sanitizer solution (we recommend StellarSan) through the liquid lines, tubes, and connections.
Externals: Spray the exterior of the fill and purge tubes with a surface sanitizer (we recommend Super Kill Ethyl-Sanitizer).
Contact Time: Allow at least 2 minutes of contact time with before proceeding.
Beverage: Connect your transfer line from the Yellow Carbonation Cap to the pressure vessel (keg) or pump.
Gas: Connect your CO2 gas line to the Red Carbonation Cap on the unit.
Before filling your first vessel, you must clear the sanitiser and "prime" the system with your beverage.
Press and hold the Pinch Valve button manually.
Run the beverage through until the lines are fully primed with the filling liquid.
Press the Cycle/Back button until the preset name at the top of the screen is highlighted.
Use the Up or Down buttons to scroll through your saved presets.
Place your vessel in the fill position and press the FILL button (the one with the green light). The unit will automatically execute the following sequence:
[Purge] > [Wait] > [Filling]
Fill Count: The total number of successful fills completed during the current session.
CPM (Cans Per Minute): Your real-time production speed, calculated based on the frequency of completed fills.
AFT (Average Fill Time): The average duration (in seconds) required to complete a single fill cycle during the current session.
If you wish to clear these figures (e.g., when starting a new batch or changing vessel sizes):
Use the menu to hover over the specific figure you wish to reset.
Hold down either the Up or Down button for 3 seconds.
The value will return to zero.
How to fix a RAPT device that is boot looping | Recovery Mode Guide
If your RAPT device boots up but continually ‘loops’ back to the start up logo, this indicates that the device is stuck in a ‘boot loop’
This can happen for several reasons including but not limited to a failed firmware download, power interruption during install, poor network strength.
A Boot Loop can occur on any RAPT device with a screen – including but not limited to RAPT Fermentation Chambers, RAPT Temperature Controllers, Gen 4 RAPT BrewZillas.
A Boot Loop issue is quite easily rectified.
Generally, a Boot Loop can be resolved by resetting NVS.
An NVS reset is performed using the following steps.
You may require assistance, as you need to unplug the device and re-plug it while accessing the control panel.
STEP 1: : Unplug the RAPT device that is boot-looping.
STEP 2: Hold down the Up or Down buttons on the RAPT device
STEP 3: While holding the buttons down, plug the RAPT device back in. Keep the two buttons held down while the unit boots up.
Note: it is quite helpful to have another person assist with this.
STEP 4: The device will reboot, and also clear NVS. This will reset the unit (so it will forget the current WiFi config and Registration settings unfortunately) but it will also restore it to the last stable firmware condition.
STEP 5: Once rebooted, you can go through the initial steps required to connect the device to your WiFi network. (See the appropraite Get Started! guide for step by step instructions if required)
STEP 6: One connected to WiFi, please navigate to Check for OTA Update in the Settings menu and select this. This will download and install the current firmware.
Please ensure you have a decent, stable WiFi signal before updating, as dropouts during this can cause 'boot loop' issues as experienced.
STEP 7: This operation may need to be performed a couple of times to be successful. A successful NVS reset will display a Connect this device to the Internet message after booting up. If this does not appear please perform the reset operation again.
In the unlikely event that an NVS reset does not fix a boot loop issue, we can perform a full reset into recovery mode. This will reset the device back to factory defaults, and restore it to the last verified firmware.
Recovery mode operates as a bootloader which gives access to settings independant of firmware. This can be useful in some situations such as experiencing issues with your RAPT device due to a corrupt firmware or a problem with a firmware update.
Typically the avergae user will not need to enter Recovery Mode.
STEP 1: Enter Recovery Mode
Unplug the RAPT device, then plug it back in while holding all 4 main buttons down - Up or Down Select Cycle/Back
Once it boots up, you will see a screen called Recovery Mode Main Menu
STEP 2: Select option [0] Rollback last OTA update and reset.
Use the Up or Down buttons to select the required option [0] then select Cycle/Back to do this.
If successful, the message Rollback to previous firmware worked will be displayed, and the RAPT device will reboot. You may then need to reconnect the RAPT device to your WiFi network and perform an OTA firmware update, then re-register the device to your RAPT account.
STEP 3: If unsuccessful, the message Rollback is not possible will be displayed, and the unit will stay in Recovery Mode.
You will need to manually connect the RAPT device to WiFi and update the firmware manually while in Recovery Mode.
As there is no on screen keyboard, the easiest way to do this is to setup a HotSpot on your phone with a super simple network name and password – such as all capital 'A's for the name and password.
Thus create a HotSpot network name of AA and a password of AAAAAAAA.
Use the Up or Down buttons to select option [1] Connect To Wifi.
Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the SSID and Password on the controller.
Otherwise use the navigation keys to enter your home WiFi Network SSID and Password manually
Once connected to the network, the RAPT device will go back to the main Recovery Mode menu. This time, select option [2] Do OTA Update
This will update the RAPT device firmware. Once this is down, please unplug the RAPT device then plug it back in after 30 seconds. It will now start up properly.
If you used a custom mobile phone hotspot to connect you will now need to connect the RAPT device to your home WiFi network. Please refer to the online user manual for step by step instructions. The RAPT device will also need to be re-registered to your RAPT account after this.
In the unlikely event that resetting NVS and entering Recovery Mode does not fix a boot loop issue, please contact KegLand at beer@kegland.com.au or your local retailer for warranty support.








This also pre-chills the lines and stainless fill tubes, which is essential for minimising foam on your very first fill.









Current firmware up to date: No further action is required.
Connection Tip: Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal. If the update fails or hangs, relocate the unit closer to your router and try again.
Set Flow: You only need a light, steady flow. Once you see consistent bubbling, the setting is perfect.
Note: If gas flows continuously and won't stop after the purge cycle, your pressure is too high. Turn the screw anti-clockwise to rectify.

Adding the Instant Read Water Resistant Probe allows you to monitor real-time temperatures as you fill. Since temperature is the most critical factor in CO₂ stability, this upgrade helps you make immediate adjustments if your liquid warms up and causes foaming.
The main housing is held together by six Phillips head screws.
Remove all six screws and carefully separate the two halves of the housing.
Tip: Be mindful of any internal wiring that may be connected between the two halves as you pull them apart.
To gain full access to the control boards, the liquid line must be moved out of the way.
Manually press down on the Pinch Valve to open the "jaw."
Pull the silicone liquid line out of the valve and move it to the side.
The RAPT housing features a dedicated port for the temperature probe, protected by a small cap and grommet.
Remove Cap: Locate the small port on the housing. Remove the plastic cap, but leave the rubber grommet in place. (Note: A spare grommet and cap are included in the KL38171 kit if needed).
Insertion: Carefully push the probe end through the grommet from the inside of the housing out. Note: The plug on the cable is too large to fit through the grommet, so the probe must be pushed from the inside out.
Locate the temperature sensor port on the main control board (there is only one compatible socket for this plug).
Plug the lead in firmly until it is fully seated.
Once the lead is plugged in and the cable is seated neatly in the grommet, close the housing halves.
Reinstall the six Phillips head screws and the stainless stand in reverse order.
For the most accurate "real-time" reading, the probe should be positioned directly against the fill lines.
Positioning: Place the probe tip between the Liquid and Purge lines.
Secure: Use the included small rubber band to fasten the probe securely to the lines.
To ensure the device recognizes the new sensor and displays the temperature on the main screen, you must be running the version realeased after 30/04/2025.
Navigate to: Menu > Settings > Check for Updates.
Carefully cut the silicone (liquid) and vinyl (gas) tubes at the point where they meet the top of your current stainless fill tubes.
Note: Ensure you make a clean, square cut to provide a better seal on the new tubes.
Follow the same initial steps as the Instant Read Temperature Probe Upgrade to access the internal boards:
Remove Stand: Undo the two wing bolts and two fixed bolts from the sides.
Open Housing: Remove the six Phillips head screws holding the housing together.







Pop the two tube-holding clips out of the front of the housing. These are friction-fitted and should release with firm, steady pressure.
The new tubes have different diameters and require slightly different techniques for a secure fit:
Gas Line (Vinyl): The gas line is intentionally tight to prevent leaks. Submerge the end of the vinyl tube in a mug of hot water for 20 seconds. This will make the material pliable and much easier to slide over the new stainless barb.
Liquid Line (Silicone): This tube is softer and slides on easily. To ensure it doesn't slip during a pressurized fill, we recommend securing it with a small hose clamp ( are ideal for this application).
Clear the Valve: Manually open the Pinch Valve and move the silicone liquid line to the side to reveal the control board.
For the best signal strength and a neat finish, the antenna should be mounted to the interior of the housing as specified in the kit.
Carefully peel the backing tape from the antenna to expose the adhesive strip.
Fasten the antenna to the designated spot on the housing (ensure the surface is clean and dry for maximum adhesion).
Standard: RAPT Can & Bottle Fillers purchased after 31/08/2025 do not require this upgrade; the slimline tubes are installed as standard. Units purchased before 31/08/2025 can be easily retrofitted with the KB22681 Slimline Fill Tube Kit by following the instructions below.
Compatibility Check: RAPT Can & Bottle Fillers purchased after 31/01/2025 do not require this upgrade; the antenna is installed as standard. Units purchased before 31/01/2025 can be easily retrofitted with the KL44493 Wi-Fi Antenna Upgrade by following the instructions below.




This guide covers glossary of terms and troubleshooting for common issues like Fill Time Out, foam control, and Wi-Fi error codes 5379 or 28674. Ensuring you get the most out of your RAPT Can Filler.








Empty Pressure
The ambient atmospheric pressure reading captured during the calibration process.
Calibration Factor
The calculated pressure change (kPa per mm) determined during calibration.
Fill Count
Total successful fills completed during the current session.
CPM (Cans Per Minute)
Current production speed based on the frequency of completed fills.
AFT (Average Fill Time)
The average duration (in seconds) to complete a single fill cycle in the current session.
Fill Time Out Error (settings)
Decrease Min Fill Rate: The rate may be set too high for your vessel (Default 2.0mm/s).
Increase Fill Time Out: Give the unit more time to reach the goal (Default 5s).
Adjust Wait Time: Increase the pause between purge and fill (Optimum: 0.5s–1.5s).
RAPT Network Not Visible
Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled in Settings.
Reboot unit for 30 seconds.
Check Diagnostics: If an IP is shown, it’s already connected.
If updating the firmware persistently fails or throws an error, and all troubleshooting steps have failed, then try using your mobile phone as a Hotspot to resolve this.
Using the phone as a Hotspot will typically solve firmware update issues of this kind
1: It helps eliminate potential network or modem/router issues which can cause problems that can be hard to isolate and resolve
2: It can help eliminate signal strength or poor WiFi connection issues as the phone can be positioned right next to the RAPT device when in Hotspot mode.
To connect to the phone Hotspot and update the firmware there are a few steps to follow
On the phone, turn WiFi OFF. When troubleshooting firmware download or network issues, we do not want to use the same network thus the phone must be disconnected from the WiFi network in order to do this
Enable Personal Hotspot (sometimes just called Hotspot) on your phone. This is typically located under the WiFi or Network menu in the Settings menu of the phone. On IOS this is under Settings/Personal Hotspot. The menu names will vary on Android depending on device
Enable Maximise Compatibility (on IOS) or 2.4gHz Network Only (on Android - again, this will have different names depending on device/OS). This will help minimise issues when connecting
Once Hotspot is enabled on the device, following the steps in to connect to the phone Hotspot
Once connected, navigate to Settings/Check for OTA update on the RAPT Device
Minimum Fill Rate
The minimum liquid height increase required per second to maintain the cycle. (Default: 2.00mm/s)
Fill Time Out
The maximum time allowed for a fill cycle to complete before the unit stops due to the Minimum Fill Rate not being achieved.
Check Gas Line: Use a glass of water to check for leaks in the gas tube; check the Diagnostics menu to see if pressure is dropping. Cut or replace any areas of damage.
Fill Time Out Error (User/Environment)
Too Much Foam: Foam prevents the sensor from reading the liquid level correctly. Chill liquid further, increase line resistance, or lower transfer pressure.
Transfer Speed: If the flow is too slow, the min fill rate won't be hit. Increase pressure/speed.
Vessel Width: Very wide vessels fill "slower" in terms of height per second.
Inconsistent Fills
Residual Pressure: Increase "Wait Time" in presets (0.5s minimum) to allow purge pressure to stabilisze before filling.
"Purging, Wait, Ready" (No Fill)
Recalibrate: The calibration values are too close together. Ensure Empty Pressure is ~0.000 ±0.03 and Calibration Factor is ~0.01000 ±0.002 kPa/mm.
Pressure Sensor Error
Kinked/Blocked Line: Check for liquid or kinks in the external gas line. If clear, remove the housing screws to inspect the internal gas line connection.
"No Internet" on Phone
Select "Forget Network" or ignore the prompt; internet isn't needed for the setup portal. Then connect again
Connection Failed
Check Band: Must be 2.4GHz (not 5GHz).
Check Password & Wi-Fi Name: Remove non-alphanumeric characters (e.g., #, !, ?).
Unsecured: Device cannot connect to networks without a password.
Reboot your modem/WiFi router
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network
Turn off any VPN or anything that can block an outgoing signal on the router
Install optional to improve WiFi connectivity
Missing Validation Code
Connect the device to your W-iFi network; then Update the firmware - select Check for OTA update in Settings
Error Registering Device
Check that the device firmware is up to date - select Check for OTA update in the DIagnostics screen
The Validation Code may have timed out. Reboot the device by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Log out of the RAPT Portal and log back in
If the above steps do not work, reboot the network that the device is connected to. Once the network has rebooted, reboot the device by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Log out of the RAPT Portal and log back in. Note: if using a modem and seperate Wi-Fi routers, reboot the modem and then the Wi-Fi routers in that order.
A corrupt firmware install can prevent registration. This can happen if a firmware download is interrputed, for example. If the above steps do not allow registration, please refer to to rollback firmware to a good version, then update to the current version
Determine whether your device is connected to Wi-Fi
To check this navigate to Diagnostics and check that it shows your network’s IP address next to IP (STA) - in the form 192.168.XX.XXX or similar. You can also check the WiFi AP (Access Point ) the device is connected to and the current WiFi signal strength
Determine whether your device is registered to the RAPT Portal
If the message "Register your device by pressing the select button to enter the main menu, then selecting the "Register Device" item in the main menu" is displayed, this is not registered. Please follow the steps outlined in Register Device
Cannot update firmware | 5379 Error
This is a network issue. The OTA Firmware Update could not be validated or was incomplete. Ensure your device is as close as possible to the router. Check signal strength in Diagnostics
Ensure you have a strong 2.4gHz WiFi signal (not just 5gHZ). Check your signal strength against
Make sure there are no VPNs in use, or filters or other potential issues set up in the router that can block an outgoing signal
If issues persist, reboot the device and also the modem
If the above do not work, see below
Cannot update firmware | 28674 Error
This is a network issue. The OTA Firmware Update could not be validated or was incomplete. Ensure your device is as close as possible to the router. Check signal strength in Diagnostics
Error 28674 is an error opening an HTTP connection. Check your modem or router settings. A VPN, Firewall or other setting may be blocking outgoing connections - this is a common reason for this error
