# Equipment Profiles

Equipment Profiles is where you manage the profiles for your brewing equipment.

These profiles are important when designing or importing recipes into the RAPT Recipe Editor.

The information in the Profile selected will allow the Recipe Editor to accurately calculate water volumes, efficiency, losses etc. The more accurate the Equipment Profile, the more likely you are to hit the numbers on your brew day.

There are two different ways to add Equipment Profiles to your library.

You can add an existing Equipment Profile to your library from the RAPT database.

You can also create your own Equipment Profile from scratch.

Any profile that has been added to your library can also be edited - for example, you may wish to change the Brewhouse or Mash efficiency to better match your results. This enables you to tweak profiles as you brew based on the results of your brew day, which allows you to customise any profile to better match your brewing!
